Tsavo East and Tsavo West Kenya Safari Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Begin Tsavo Safari from Mombasa/Diani to Tsavo East then leave for Tsavo West National Park
Leave your Mombasa or Malindi hotel very early in the morning for Tsavo East National Park driving along the Nairobi - Mombasa road. Enter Tsavo East National Park through Bachuma gate and begin safari game drive looking out for wildlife and bird species before driving to Voi Safari lodge for Lunch with game drive en-route.
After lunch drive to Tsavo West National Park with game viewing en-route to Ngulia Rhino sanctuary.

Day 2: Safari Game drive in Tsavo West then return to Mombasa

As one may see on the Web sites of the safari operators in Mombasa, the choice of tours that they offer is quite similar. There is one thing, though, that makes PD Tours and Safaris (and its manager Patrick) distinctly different: while the others would try to fit you into their own schedule, Patrick makes sure to fit himself into yours.
My time in Mombasa was not flexible, and the dates and times that I could go on a safari were actually fixed. I contacted several operators by e-mail - only few have answered, and there was only one, who was able to make it happen on the dates that I had available: PD Tours and Safaris. Moreover, I asked for a price as a member of a group (private tour would cost you 50-80% more), and in the end I turned out to be the only member of the "group", but this didn't cost me a single shilling extra.
Add here warm and friendly attitude, very safe driving style (both on public roads full of chaotic traffic and on the dirt roads of the national parks) and absolute punctuality - and you will get Patrick and his PD Tours and Safaris.
I've been on two safaris with Patrick: 2 days Tsavo East & West, and 1 day Shimba Hills. Both were absolutely amazing. A good safari requires at least three things:
- good knowledge of the terrain and places where you can find something interesting
- good eye to spot the animals that are trying to fade away in the landscape
- some amount of luck
While the last item here is totally out of our control, the two first ones depend entirely on your guide. Both of these are perfectly mastered by Patrick. I don't think there was any single case when he would spot an animal (from his driver's place) later than I (positioned up in the safari van). With his guidance and help, I could see enormous number of animals, and I'm quite sure that more than half of them I would have never found or spot myself.
I'm quite happy that I have found PD Tours and Safaris and would definitely recommend them.

Perfect safari
We booked last minute a safari with Patrick. Even tough there wasn’t a lot of time left, he did the effort to contact (and book) the lodges I wanted to stay instead of the ‘regular’ ones. We really enjoyed our safari from the beginning till the end. It was our first ‘African adventure’ so we were really amazed by the Kenyan landscape and animals. Patrick was a well educated, friendly and experienced driver! Thank you Patrick for this wonderful experience. If I come back, i’ll do another safari with you!
